Wild Birth

Just as a woman’s heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale, and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give birth.

Birth-Earth Keeper

I am a Radical Birthkeeper. Radical meaning root. My work is rooted in authentic midwifery, meaning ‘with women’. I am devoted to walking beside women who are choosing to home birth their babies in sovereignty and peace, outside of the medicalised system. Reclaiming birth as the immense rite of passage it is designed to be: a portal to both otherworldly transcendence and earthly immanence. I know women to be the wisest authorities on their own bodies. My role is witnessing, holding, championing, nurturing and loving you through the ultimate mystery school of pregnancy, birth and beyond.

I am a guardian, a spaceholder of the sacred shamanic unfolding of birth. I hold a lit lamp of truth to the female birthing power that has been systematically buried and sabotaged, guiding you home to your innate wisdom, self-trust and self-sourcing.

I hold a prayer for the new earth we are creating where the masses, not the few, are powerfully born into an undisturbed, peaceful, pleasurable, oxytocin-filled home temple. How souls entering the earth in peace and power would ripple out to every facet of society.

I offer my Birthkeeping services in Cornwall. I believe in true devoted care, therefore I have limited availability per year.

“I had the most beautiful free birth I could have ever envisioned for myself and my son. I’m so thankful Amy came into my life to guide me along this birthing path throughout my pregnancy journey. Together I got to such a strong place of mind where I could trust body, my intuition and myself as a mother to birth Cairo undisturbed at home.

The first time we crossed paths was actually before I fell pregnant with my 2nd. Amy was sat at the table next to us with the brightest eyes passionately telling her company about free birth and the unfortunate reality of how medicalised birth has become and never intended to be. I really resonated to what she was saying and wondered if I’d ever have a natural physiological birth at home.

I first reached out to Amy through her Instagram page at the beginning of my second trimester curious to hear more. We met and talked about my first birth experience, our views, values and my dream vision for my upcoming birth. Amy was so sweet and made me feel comfortable right from the start to open up about motherhood and fears to work through. She listened and validated my previous birth experience and with kind words and compassionate understanding. She explained what it meant to be a radical birth keeper and walk with women how she so beautifully does in all her work.

I then attended her re-menarche celebration ceremony with a friend. The ceremony was powerful and many of us cried to each other as we retold our stories about how we received our first moon and connected the threads to understand how that rite of passage deeply affects us and sets the tone for our next rite of passage.
Amy held the space so magically and shared so much wisdom about womanhood and the feminine that times so perfectly with where I was on my pregnancy and spiritual journey.

My next rite of passage was childbirth, I would be rebirthed again as mother. I would call it fate that during this time Amy would birth her own creation of her Feminine Mystery School with an in person journey to discover the sovereign matriarch. Her offering was written as poetry and 6 of us felt the call to spiral with Amy for 6 weeks. I have never felt so empowered, so connected, so loved and held as I did by the final circle. We had to mourn our time coming to an end. I had learnt so much about the physiology and spirituality of birth. I had never been so grateful for being a woman and being able to create life. I was the portal my baby would enter this world through.

I knew Amy would be there for my baby’s birth. I felt so safe and seen in her presence. I was certain I could birth my baby myself at home without the medical industry but to have Amy there as a light to remind me to trust myself would mean everything paired with the connection we had been building and the confidence she had reignited in me. I asked her if she would attend the birth after our last spiral and Amy said my baby had already told her to be there the night before and she knew I would ask.
I couldn’t be any happier and even more excited for my birth knowing that Amy would be our birth keeper. I envisioned a sacred, peaceful birth, my baby would arrive when they were ready.

The following week Amy held a mother’s blessing ceremony for me with the closest women and mothers in my life. The ceremony itself was above any expectations I could have had especially knowing how much work and care Amy puts into everything she does I did have pretty high and beautiful expectations about how the day would be. That blessing will stay with me forever it was one of the most memorable days of my life, the most perfect celebration of my rite to passage into motherhood again. Entering the space was its own journey, we saged each other as we gazed upon the beautiful centrepiece of my favourite flowers with candles lit and chocolate treats displayed so gracefully between essential oils and shells and goddess totems. A beautifully crafted playlist enhanced the peace and kept me centred as each sister poured their own heartfelt words about my being and my motherhood journey thus far onto paper and spoke them to the circle. Not an eye in that room was dry, I felt so so loved and empowered to birth. My sisters then painted stones and arranged flower bundles with empowering words for me to decorate my birth space with and to remember my blessing as Amy painted my bump with beautiful spiralling henna. I even received massages from my kind sisters. The red thread was tied and now the end of my pregnancy felt very near.

My birth was beautiful, it was spiritual, transcendent in every way, easily the most amazing experience of my life. I am so so proud to have birthed my baby the way I did. My son is perfect and it most definitely has affected my parenting in such a magical way. To be so present in birth is a gift. Amy was the greatest support throughout my labour and although I have the confidence in myself and physiological birth to say I could do it on my own. I wouldn’t, I’d invite her into that birth space every time given the choice. Amy is one of the most caring people I’ve ever met, I’m in admiration of her and the incredible important and sacred work she does for women.”
